For Calgary trainers
I'm Chris. I lift in Calgary, I'm not a certified trainer, and I'm not a dietitian or nutritionist. I'm a technical founder who built a web app that members use to log sets and meals on their phone. This page is for trainers who might hand it to their clients. It says what exists, what doesn't yet, and what you'd get.
It is not a coaching service and it is not meant to replace you. You own the programme and the relationship. This is the client's logbook, food log and weekly scorecard for the hours they aren't with you.
What it does today
- Runs in any phone browser. Nothing to install; it isn't in the app stores.
- Writes each member's solo sessions from their own logged history, with weekly volume counted per muscle, and a second AI pass audits each session.
- Logs sets in the gym and times the session. One tap swaps an exercise.
- Logs food from a typed sentence or a photo of the plate. It estimates calories, protein, carbs, fat and fibre, shows the assumptions it made, and the member confirms before it saves. It is a log, not nutrition advice.
- Morning weigh-in. Personal targets with the reasoning shown.
- A dashboard that ranks the one to four things to fix this week. Four-week trends per muscle and per lift.
- Optional progress-photo assessment.
- Price: CAD $19.99 a month, everything included.
- Every member is approved by me, by hand.
- Privacy and terms, in plain language: what is collected, where it's stored, who can see it, how to delete it. Privacy · Terms
Where you fit
Your sessions with a client get logged, not replaced. On the days they train without you, the app writes a session from their own logged history and targets, not from your plan; there's no way to load your programme into it yet, and I'd rather say that here than have you find out. The per-muscle weekly volume ledger shows exactly what got done, so you can see the overlap, and swaps are one tap. It doesn't coach technique and it doesn't message your clients on your behalf. When I email a client you referred, the first line says you sent them.
Calgary coaches on this page
Coaches listed here train people in Calgary. Each one is here because I've seen their work and asked. Some are partners who may be compensated when a client they refer joins; that's stated on their card. Being listed has no conditions: you're featured whether or not anyone signs up, and your listing comes down within ten days if you ask.
Plain fact: this page is new and traffic is small. The listing is a backlink and a Q&A you didn't have to write, not a lead source. Ask me for the page's monthly visits and I'll tell you.
No coaches are listed yet; the first listings go up as partners join.
Coach Notes
Short Q&As with the coaches above: who they train and what a good first month looks like, what clients get wrong between sessions, one exercise they'd cut and one they'd add, how they handle the nutrition question inside their scope, and what they'd want a client to bring back from the week. Posted here and on Instagram, tagged to them.
No Coach Notes yet.
Critics
Strength coaches who use the app for a month and write down what's wrong with it. Their notes go here unedited, including what they didn't like.

What you get
- A free member seat for as long as at least one client you referred is an active member (defined in the partner terms).
- Your listing on this page, with a booking link and a Coach Notes Q&A. No conditions.
- A referral code. Your code is a link: thechrisworkout.com/?ref=YOURCODE. Anyone who signs up through it, or types your code at signup, is tagged to you.
- A monthly note from me: who signed up, who's active, what shipped.
- A say in what gets built. The coach view gets designed with the first partners.
- 30% of every payment from every client you refer, for 24 months from their first paid month. At $19.99 that's about $6 a month per active client; ten active clients is about $60 a month. Commissions are paid on what referred members actually pay, starting from each member's first paid month.
Not built yet
- A coach view of your clients' adherence: not built yet, no date set. Today they show you their phone.
Not planned: an app-store app (it's a web app on purpose), human coaching, meal plans, guaranteed results.
One thing I'll ask of you
Tell clients you're compensated when you recommend it. “I get a cut if you sign up” is enough. Canada's Competition Bureau treats that as required, and a code on its own doesn't count.
The line you can reuse with clients about food logging
“The app estimates calories and macros from what you type or photograph, shows its assumptions, and you confirm before it saves. It's a log, not nutrition advice.”
Questions
Does this replace me?
No. It writes sessions for the days a client trains without you and logs everything they do, including the sessions you run. You decide what they should be doing.
Can my client log the programme I wrote for them?
Not yet. The app writes each session from your client's own log and targets. They can swap any exercise in one tap, but there's no way to enter your programme.
Can I see what my clients are doing?
Not yet, and there's no date set. Until then, your client can show you their dashboard in the gym in ten seconds.
What do you do with my clients' data?
The privacy policy says it in plain language. Their logs, photos and weigh-ins are theirs; there is no partner or coach view of any of it; I don't sell or share it; any member can download or delete everything from their account page.
Interim privacy statement for partners
To run this programme I collect your legal name, email, Interac e-Transfer address and, if I pay you $500 or more in a year, your business number for the T4A (or your SIN only if you have no business number). I use them only to pay you and meet CRA obligations. Tax identifiers are kept in an encrypted password manager, not in a spreadsheet, never shared, and deleted once those obligations end. Members' data is theirs; there is no partner view of it.
Next step
Email info@thechrisworkout.com with your name and where you train. I'll send a 2-minute walkthrough and the one-page partner terms, and if it's useful, set up your seat, code and listing the same week.
